We’re on the lookout for a proper Cook to join our busy little team at Sandwich Chefs in Lansell Square.
If you enjoy making really good sandwiches, wraps, salads and toasties, and you take pride in what you put out, we want to talk to you. We’re not after fancy chefs – just someone who’s fast, organised, clean, and actually cares about the food.
We’re after someone who
- Minimum 2 years of relevant hands-on experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen environment
- Relevant qualification such as Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Strong knife skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Availability for early morning shifts and weekend work
- A reliable, friendly attitude with strong teamwork skills
- High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on taste, freshness, presentation, and consistency in every sandwich and carvery meal
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing fresh sandwiches and wraps throughout the day
- Handling morning prep, including ingredient cutting and setup
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Assisting at the counter during busy periods
- Ensuring high standards of food safety and quality at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a sandwich bar, café, or similar food environment (highly preferred)
- Strong knife skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Availability for early morning shifts and weekend work
- A valid Food Handler’s Certificate
- A reliable, friendly attitude with strong teamwork skills
